Jim Powers Interview (January 2008)

This is an interview with veteran porn director (and shooter) Jim Powers.  It was recorded on January 11, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Adult Entertainment Expo. 

Jim directed his first adult movie over sixteen years ago.  Since then, he is credited with 757 titles according to IAFD, but the real number is likely substantially higher.  This works out to 47+ movies a year, or nearly one a week continuously for nearly two decades straight. 

Practically all Jim's work is hard gonzo, but not without a sense of humor and often more attention is given to a plot than one might expect.  As Jim discusses in the interview, he strives to create unique, memorable scenes that will still please even the most jaded raincoater.  Some of his popular series' over the years have included American Bukkake, The Babysitter, Gag Factor, Guttermouths, Kelly the Coed, Perverted Stories and The Violation of ... lesbian series. 

In 2004, Powers formed his own production studio called Powersville.  The venture has proved successful and two successful series have resulted:  Filthy Things and School Girls.  He continues to shoot movies for JM Productions, Sin City and other adult studios as well.  His latest private label productions are The Animal, Bound and Little Runaway #02, "A punk rock love story."
